New Assassin’s Creed IV trailer shows off a heist, pirate style

Naval warfare, salty sea dogs and one massive pile of gold highlight the latest trailer for the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

The way that Ubisoft’s latest stab at the AC franchise is looking, I’m really having a tough time telling if it’s a ‘pirate’ game or an Assassin’s Creed title. Of course I know the answer to that- it’s both.

Although the game hasn’t hit retail quite yet, it definitely looks like what the doctor ordered for the franchise; something really different. You have a ‘hero’ in Kenway who doesn’t look like the prototypical assassin at all and a game world that vastly different than any we’ve seen before in an AC title.

Things are getting very interesting indeed in the world of Assassin’s Creed. You’ll be able to Defy the Creed yourself when the game pillages retail for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 29th in the US and on November 1st in Europe. Looking for the Xbox One, PS4, PC and Wii U versions? They’ll be ship-shape on the 22nd of November 19th in the US and on the 22nd in Europe.
