Marvel preps Avengers A.I. for activation

Fresh from the Age of Ultron, Marvel Comics is launching an all-android team of Avengers. Leading the squad is none other than Hank Pym and The Vision.

I’m a bit of a sucker for anything with the classic Avengers characters. And with Hank Pym and the Vision in it, I’m particularly jazzed for Avengers A.I. Judging from the roster on the new ‘team’ (not to mention the implications for the larger Marvel Universe that a book like this conveys), this might be one book that that you really shouldn’t miss out on.

A brave new world is unleashed and only one team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can save us from the future. Gathered together by Hank Pym, The Vision leads Victor Mancha, Doombot, and the mysterious Alexis in a race to contain an unfathomable Pandora’s Box of destruction! And which side will Monica Chang, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., find herself on?

“Springing out of the increasingly razor-thin crawlspace between the organic and synthetic worlds comes ‘Avengers A.I.’,” said Axel Alonso, Editor In Chief, Marvel Entertainment. “When one of the Marvel Universe’s preeminent brainiacs, Hank Pym, embarks on a long road to redemption, he must assemble a team unlike any other, a team composed of heroes that will challenge the very definition of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and the way you look at super heroes.”

Sounds like some cool stuff and I love the idea of redemption for Pym after the assault by his ‘son’ in the catastrophic Age of Ultron mini-series. Look for Avengers A.I. #1 to hit stands in July from Sam Humphries, Andre Araujo, and Marvel Comics.
