Warner Bros announces an Infinite Crisis

Hot on the heels of the Lord of the Rings MOBA released a few months back, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has announced that the DC Comics event Infinite Crisis will be getting the same treatment.

Infinite Crisis was an absolutely huge event in the old DC Universe that led the company’s characters down the road that eventually led the DCU getting so convoluted that the company had to reboot (just my opinion). That in turn, led to Flash Point and the New 52’s birth.

Whatever happened in the DCU afterwards, I actually liked Infinite Crisis as a self contained storyarch- quite a bit in fact, so to see it be adapted into a game is pretty cool. Now, it is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), but it still looks pretty darned cool to see all the big name characters (and the wild, multiversal variations of each) mix it up.

Have a look:

Infinite Crisis is a new entrant into the wildly popular MOBA genre that delivers a heart-pounding competitive player vs. player battle experience set in the legendary DC Multiverse – a world in which familiar DC Comics characters have been reimagined in startling ways.  Featuring a wide variety of DC Comics heroes and villains, Infinite Crisis puts players in control of twisted incarnations of their favourite characters throughout the Multiverse such as Nightmare Batman and Gaslight Catwoman, playing in league with well-known characters including Green Lantern and The Flash.

Infinite Crisis will be free to play and will see release sometime this year for the PC. If you’d like to sign up for a chance to play the beta, or just for more info, click here.
