Blood of the Werewolf set to gnaw on consoles soon

Indie publisher Midnight City announced today that their side-scrolling werewolf action title Blood of the Werewolf will be sharpening its fangs on Xbox Live and the PSN.

We liked Blood of the Werewolf quite a bit here at BG. So much so that it’s one of our favorites of 2013; on any platform. Blood hit the PC last October and tells the story of Selena, a werewolf who’s husband has been murdered and son kidnapped by the evil Dr. Victor Frankenstein. Yes, that Frankenstein.

Full of beasties to fight and some excellent (if crushingly hard) gameplay, Blood of the Werewolf was a beautifully made love-letter to the platformers of old… if those platformers were also uber-bloody that is. Now with the Xbox Live and PSN release, Blood is the same great title that the PC saw, but with a few little improvements.

A brand new game mode has been added onto the game called ‘Endless Challenge’, and it’s exactly what you might think it is from the name. Well, maybe better than you think as Endless Challenge will have procedurally generated ‘gauntlets’ for Selena to fight her way through that will just get harder and harder as you go. For old school players (or just those that like a good solid challenge) that’s a platforming dream come true.

Blood of the Werewolf wolfs out on Xbox Live and on the PSN in the second quarter of this year.
