Kind of a surprise here as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from Activision and developer Beenox will feature Kraven pretty heavily. And it looks like you might be spending some time in the shoes of Peter Parker as well.
All in all, I like what I’m seeing here. The first game in the series (which is patterned after the rebooted film franchise that’s about to see a sequel of the same name) was a return to the free-swinging, wide-open NYC of old that fans loved so much. TASM2 is definitely going to continue that trend, but hopefully with a city that will be much bigger this time around- and one that should be a little more detailed too thanks to the power of the recently released next-gen consoles.
Graphically, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 does look pretty solid, even here in what’s basically the first trailer; so that’s a good thing. What’s most shocking though (pardon the pun) isn’t the tease of Electro at the end, but the massive amount of Kraven we get throughout the video. It certainly seem like the villain is going to be a big influence on Spidey in the game, maybe tempting the wall-crawler over to the dark side; which would give the game a ‘choice and consequences’ element. He did say ‘hero or menace’ after all. JJ would love that line.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to swing onto the PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and 3DS (nope, no Vita edition) later this spring.
