Van Halen to feature on Rock Band 4’s track list

For the first time, hairband legends Van Halen are playing to the Rock Band crowd in the series’ 4th installment.

It’s a big moment for fans of one of the biggest bands of the 80s, as Van Halen is on the way to Rock Band 4. Right off the jump, you’ll get one of the best-loved tunes form the group, with more to come.

“For years we’ve wanted to bring Van Halen’s music to Rock Band,” added Harmonix CEO Steve Janiak. “Not only are the songs incredible in their own right, but they’re amazingly fun to play and perform, whether you’re on guitar, bass, drums, or vocals.”

I think that might be an understatement right there. Van Halen is kind of the ultimate party band, so if you’re looking for an awesome set of songs to play and sing, well, this is kind of it. And right away, you’ll get to play Panama, as it’ll be on the disc when RB4 hits this Fall.

Past that, Harmonix promises that there’s more that’ll be landing on the Rock Band Music Store in the months post-launch. Just what those tracks are, we don’t know, but you’ll have plenty to play anyway when Rock Band 4 launches on the Xbox One and PS4 this October the 6th, as the game is compatible with some 1500 songs, both new and legacy – from Rock Band’s already existing catalog.
