New Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 trailer goes punk

Backed by the punk band Plague Vendor’s track “Black Sap Scriptures,” this new THPS5 trailer is all about the gameplay.

So the big points for this one are pretty obviously the skate park-maker and that drop-in/drop-out online play, going  little heavier on the latter. A brand new element for the series, the online play in THPS5 allows for “seamless” multiplayer where up to 20 gamers can hop on and skate with friends, as well as compete in challenges.

Actually, everything that you can do in the single player campaign, you can also do online in multiplay, and that includes tackling “missions, unlocking new content, and leveling up.” There are competitive challenges in there as well, so this that like a little head-to-head should be happy too. And then there’s the creation feature.

Making your own park to grind and kickflip your way through looks like an exceedingly easy to use affair, and Activision promises that you’ll be able to share them online as well. And lest you think that the title character won’t be playing as well, the publisher adds that “if your creation is good enough, you might find the Birdman himself in there nailing 900s!”

The game is set to arrive for the Xbox One and PS4, in full form which includes the online play, but will also debut on the Ps3 and Xbox 360. Reflecting that somewhat more limited set of features, the last-gen version of the game will be priced at $39.99 USD, which is $20 cheaper than the PS4 and Xbox One editions.

You’ll be able to pick up any of the above (or all of the above if that’s something that you’re looking to do) this Fall.
