The Elder Scrolls Online – it’s better with friends

The second video in a series centered on Bethesda’s soon-to-be console MMO The Elder Scrolls Online, this new trailer takes a look at adventuring in Tamriel with your buddies… or a stranger or two.

Offering a while world of content, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is hitting consoles without a subscription plan of any kind. All you need to do to dig in is buy the game in the box (or download it), and you can start playing without restrictions. Already pretty popular on the PC, this should seriously boost the player count for the game, which will also be carrying over that pay structure to its native platform.

That’s not to say that there won’t be added content that will have costs associated with them though. Bethesda has announced that you can expect to see DLC hitting for the game, as well as ESO Plus, which will have a monthly fee. That optional cost will include “exclusive in-game bonuses, a monthly allotment of crowns to use in the store and access to all DLC game packs while a member”. So not too bad there if you want access to even more of what the game offers.

If anything was going to get you into an MMO, I’d think it’d have to be the world of The Elder Scrolls without subscription fees. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited hits the Xbox One and PS4 on June 9th, and is available now on the PC.
