Ubisoft announces The Settlers – Kingdoms of Anteria

The newest game in the long-running strategy series, The Settlers – Kingdoms of Anteria melds city-building with high fantasy.

“By reinventing our approach to the franchise, The Settlers – Kingdoms of Anteria offers players a brand new experience full of new possibilities to explore,” said Christopher Schmitz, Director of Product Development at Blue Byte. “Without a doubt, this is the most innovative Settlers’ game we have ever created.”

Lots of changes are a good thing for any long-in-the-tooth series, though I hope there aren’t too many for The Settlers as the formula thought up by developer Blue Byte has been good and fun for quite a while, not to mention a favorite of a whole mess of PC gamers. There isn’t a while lot to go on just yet, but we do know that The Settlers – Kingdoms of Anteria will be a strategy title and will have the usual focus on building a thriving city at its core.

Other than that, and the fact that it’ll be available some time this year, there’s really nothing to report quite yet on this brand new title. We’ll have more for you as it’s announced.
