Rai #1 sells out, headed back to print

Miss out on Valiant’s latest superhero? There are more copies on the way.

The year is 4001 A.D. – led by the artificial intelligence called “Father,” the island nation of Japan has expanded out of the Pacific and into geosynchronous orbit with the ravaged Earth below. With billions to feed and protect, it has fallen to one solitary guardian to enforce the law of Father’s empire – the mysterious folk hero known as Rai. They say he can appear out of nowhere. They say he is a spirit…the ghost of Japan. But when the first murder in a thousand years threatens to topple Father’s benevolent reign, Rai will be forced to confront the true face of a nation transformed…and his own long-lost humanity…

Good timing on this one too, as the second printing of Rai #1 will be on the rack alongside Rai #2 this month. As the first in the list of 2014’s Valiant First branded books, this is one not to be missed either as the publisher ushers in the age of the future Valiant U- in the year 4001AD, a year that should be instantly recognizable to anyone who followed the company in their original ’90s run.

Rai #2 and the second run of Rai #1 will be on the racks on June 4th. After that, you can expect to see the rest of the Valiant First titles starting to hit as Valiant makes its play to get to the top of your weekly read pile.

June will also see Armor Hunters #1, while July will bring on Armor Hunters: Bloodshot, and Armor Hunters: Harbinger. The Delinquents #1 then hits in August, with The Death-Defying Dr. Mirage #1 (spinning out of Shadowman) landing safely in September.

It’s a big year for the publisher and their fans, and if you’re one, then you’re going to want to mark your calendars and not miss out on any of Valiant First.
