No, the rhythm genre isn’t quite dead yet as Realta’s upcoming BandFuse is set to teach gamers how to strum (and sing)- one rock legend at a time.
“Passing on the guitar skills and knowledge I have learned over the years to guitarists and gamers is super rewarding,” said George Lynch. “This is an amazingly fun way to learn how to play guitar and bass and a great alternative to traditional teaching. I am happy to help usher in a new era in music gaming.”
Lynch is the fifth musician announced for the game; which already counts artists like Slash, Bootsy Collins, Zakk Wylde, and Five Finger Death Punch on it’s roster. The former Dokken member and Lynch Mob front man is currently on the road and promoting his newest release ‘Slave to the Empire’, so it’s particularly cool to see him making contributions to BandFuse: Rock Legends.
If you’re not familiar, the game will use real guitars, basses and mics much like more recent ‘rhythm game’ releases to actually teach players how to, well, play. You can expect a set list that’s looks extremely solid in the final product too as Slash, Maroon 5, Rush, The Strokes, Heart, Pearl Jam and more will all be present and accounted for. In all, developer Realta is promising 55 tunes for you to jam to when the game drops for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
BandFuse: Rock Legends starts its tour this Fall.
