Spidey’s villains to get Superior

Marvel Comics has announced that some… lesser members of the wall-crawlers rogues gallery will be getting the ‘Superior’ treatment in ‘The Superior Foes of Spider-Man’.

If you remember Superior Spider-Man #1 from a few months back (and who doesn’t?), then you already know the brutal beating that a relatively new Octo-Spidey laid down on the stars of Marvel’s upcoming take on Spidey’s c-list baddies.

It took all of Peter Parker’s strength to mentally stay the hand of Doc Ock (who’s controlling his body- if you haven’t been paying attention) and stop the web-headed impersonator from killing the latest incarnation of the Sinister Six. Now Boomerang and his team have taken a time-out, retooled, and are ready for action in an all-new ongoing monthly.

“The beauty of the Spider-Man world has always been that for all the web-slinging action and adventure, Peter Parker lives in the world outside your window and his villains reflect that,” explains Tom Brennan, editor, Marvel Entertainment. “The new world of Superior Spider-Man demands a look at the lives, lies, schemes and dreams of his villains. Spider-Man’s evolved – will his villains as well?”

Look for the lovable losers of The Superior Foes of Spider-Man to hit stands with their debut issue, from the creative team of Nick Spencer and Steve Lieber, this July.
