With fedora in tow, the iconic Indiana Jones is set to adventure onto the covers of some of Marvel’s biggest comics.
If adventure has a name, it must be Indiana Jones
The man with the hat is back, and set to swing into the pages of Marvel comics. And actually, that return will be coming in a few ways. For those not following along, Indy will be getting some very welcome reprints of his classic Marvel adventures for one thing, and there’s something altogether new on the horizon set for 2027. But neither of those things are on the docket for today.
Instead, what Marvel has released, is word of a new variant cover initiative. And yes, you guessed it, those covers will star none other than Indiana Jones. These images won’t be just generic Indy action shots either, as all of them will have a definite theme. That would be ‘Marvel artifacts’, if you’re wondering.
Basically, each cover will star Indy, as he uncovers a famous piece of the Marvel Universe. Those, so far anyway, include the Infinity Gauntlet, Doctor Doom’s iron mask, Mjolnir, the Necrosword, and even the crimson gem of Cyttorak.
Carmen Carnero, Marco Checchetto, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar and Iban Coello will all be leading their talents to those covers. Fans can look for all of those to arrive in November, 2026.

He recovered The Ark of the Covenant. He secured the Holy Grail. Now, famed archaeologist Indiana Jones sets his sights on some of the most powerful items found in the Marvel Universe in all-new INDIANA JONES MARVEL ARTIFACTS COVERS!
Across five spectacular covers by superstar artists Carmen Carnero, Marco Checchetto, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar and Iban Coello, Indy goes artifact hunting for some of Marvel’s most legendary items including the Infinity Gauntlet famously wielded by Thanos, Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak that granted Juggernaut his power, Knull’s All-Black the Necrosword, and even Doctor Doom’s iconic iron mask!

The adventure never ends
While the above-mentioned variants are pretty neat, they’re also just the first in a volley of new Indy stuff coming from Marvel. That onslaught begins next month too, with September’s releases of some seriously long-awaited books. Both Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I Hardcover and Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book II Hardcover will be landing then, with both targeting the 30th of the month.
The two tomes will bring some long out of print adventures back for modern audiences. It’s been a while too, since any of them have seen the light of day. While it had a decent run, that was way back in the mid-80s. And if you’re unfamiliar, the talent list onboard for that run was massive. We’re taking about some all-time greats.

The further, further adventures
Oh, and one last thing, as there’s something altogether new coming too. We unfortunately don’t know a heck of a lot about it, but whip-cracking fans can stay tuned for Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium #1 (of 5), which will be along some time in February of 2027.
Look for Jason Aaron to take up the writing on that one, with Aaron Kuder on art. The covers should be sharp too, with Bryan Hitch signed up. Again though, details are scarce, so stay tuned for more.
