Final chapter of Marvel’s DNX revealed

The X-Men and Fantastic Four are going head to head against the evil 3K, and November will bring a capper, with Cyclops vs Beast.

DNX explodes

For those not in the know about the Marvel comic book universe, business is about to pick up with DNX. A titanic crossover, DNX is an event series that sees the X-Men teaming with the Fantastic Four. And with that level of team-up, you know the threat has to be equally massive. From what we’ve seen, it’s every bit that, as the 3K will take center stage for it.

Agents of terror, the 3K are a shadowy group that saw intro during writer Jed MacKay’s run on X-Men. Their commanding council counts some arch-foes among it too, with Cassandra Nova and… Beast. An evil and twisted version of the X-Man, this Beast is a shadow of the hero from the future. Not only that, but he’s also just been revealed as the 3K’s chairman.

MacKay and Federico Vicentini will be the creative team for DNX, which will spin out of the above-mentioned X-Men tales. Fans can look for Cyclops to take a central role for it, as he knows all too well what’s on the way, as the 3K enact an apocalyptic plan to “make more mutants”.

The event itself has been in the works for a while now, and will see issue #1 hit stands on September 3rd, 2026. What’s brand new though, is a deeper look at what the remainder of the series’ five issues will bring. From the sound of it too, they’ll introduce a climactic battle that’ll pit two iconic X-Men against one another.

Arriving in September, DNX by Jed MacKay and Federico Vicentini unites the X-Men and Fantastic Four for a crossover that serves as a culmination of years of mutant storytelling. Marking a major turning point in MacKay’s run, the event sees 3K’s twisted plan to “make more mutants” finally become reality. After Cyclops’ trip to the future in Age of Revelation, the X-Men believe they know what’s coming. But as they join forces with the Fantastic Four to stop 3K from unleashing the X-Virus, they’ll discover that the future is never set in stone. When the dust settles, fans can expect an exciting shakeup for MacKay and Netho Diaz’s X-Men. Stay tuned in the coming weeks to learn more, including the announcement of an all-new solo series launching in its aftermath.

In DNX #4, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four must regroup and address the unexpected catastrophe, while the effects of 3K’s Chairman’s scheme have only begun to be felt! But the Chairman soon learns that even his plans have flaws…

In X-MEN #41, a DNX tie-in issue, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four are on a mission to save lives—but O*N*E has a mandate to enforce a quarantine zone and have their own mission to complete. Can both succeed?

And in DNX #5, the event comes to its epic conclusion. X-Men and 3K. Scott Summers and Henry McCoy. Cyclops and the Chairman. To the death.

Marvel press release

So there’s a look at what’s to come past issue #1 of DNX. Speaking of that introductory issue though, it’s coming up fast. DNX #1 arrives on September 2nd, 2026, and when it does, it’s set to offer some blind-bag variants. Those will (naturally) include “exclusive covers not available for individual purchase”, according to Marvel.
