Toy Fair ’26: Hasbro snags Potter, Voltron, and Street Fighter

Harry Potter, Street Fighter, and Voltron are heading back to fans. Check out the first details on what Hasbro has in store.

And… action

Hasbro is definitely no stranger to big movie adaptations. The company has had a history of them after all, starting off with one of its biggest lines in Star Wars. From there though, fans have had action figures brought to them from the likes of Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the company’s own brands. Don’t forget that G.I. Joe and Transformers both have pretty big movie and television histories.

There’s more on the way though, which we found out about during this year’s New York Toy Fair season. Those will be a total of three new lineups of toys coming up, hailing from some potential blockbuster adaptations. Two of them have deep toy legacies outside of Hasbro, and one made its debut with the company.

Once caveat: none of what you’re about to read through is ready to show off just yet, let alone has hit pre-order via the company’s online shop, Hasbro Pulse. Just keep that in mind, since all three of the below lines are solely in the announce stage. We kind of figure that we might at least see some reveals this year, but not just yet.

The wizarding world of Harry Potter comes to life

Yes, there’s been a bevy of Harry Potter toys. The fantasy world originally brought to life in the books of J.K. Rowling arrived on the silver screen as one of the biggest movie series’ of all time. So naturally there were plenty of collectibles to accompany said flicks.

Fast-forward a few decades though, and Harry is getting another adaptation, this time for television. And in light of that, you better believe that there’ll be more goodies hitting stores. Those will now hail from Hasbro, with the toy maker saying that it’ll be producing “products featuring dolls, role play, action figures & collectibles, interactive plush, board games”.

Now, that’s a pretty wide spread of merch. But keep in mind that it won’t be limited to the new HBO TV series. According to the company, these fresh offerings will spin out of not just the new TV foray, but also Harry Potter’s movie history. So if you’re a fan of the license’s legacy, stay tuned.

“The world of Harry Potter and its unforgettable characters align perfectly with our mission to deliver a lifetime of play to generations of fans,” said Tim Kilpin, President of Toys, Games, Licensing and Entertainment at Hasbro. “As longtime fans ourselves, we’re honored to partner with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products as the official global master toy licensee.”

“Our new agreement with Hasbro arrives as the world of Harry Potter celebrates the 25th anniversary of the first film and continues to expand its magical legacy—powered by one of the most passionate and enduring fan communities in entertainment history,” said Robert Oberschelp, President of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. “Our partnership with Hasbro will deliver fresh, innovative toys, collectibles and games inspired by the beloved Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films and the new HBO Original TV series.”

While there’s no word yet on when fans should expect the new offerings from Hasbro, the TV series is coming up fast. Harry Potter will air on HBO and HBO Max (where available), and will debut in 2027. Actors Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, Alastair Stout will be bringing the classic trio of Harry, Hermione, and Ron to life, with the legendary John Lithgow joining them as Albus Dumbledore.

From days of long ago… Voltron returns

We have to admit, we were a little taken aback by this announcement. Yes, Hasbro has indeed been revealed as the licensor for the new Voltron movie, though that’s not what knocked us over. Actually, it was that Voltron (the movie) is this far along!

Obviously it is though, as Hasbro has made its own collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios official. And for those who love the iconic robot, they can get set to see all-new “action figures, toys and roleplay” hitting stores.

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen a cohesive Voltron line, so we’ve got high hopes. That goes for any version of the property really, which last saw a limited line of action figures coincide with the early days of the most recent animated series. Hopefully, Hasbro’s movie line will go deep into the classic mythos.

Voltron’s long and rich history strategically aligns with our portfolio of iconic 80s brands,” said Tim Kilpin, President of Toy, Licensing, and Entertainment at Hasbro. “Our collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios will further strengthen the franchise’s longevity and unlock new opportunities to engage both longtime fans and new audiences alike.”

Rawson Marshall Thurber will wear a few hats for the film, who’s involved as a producer and director. That’s not all though, as Thurber has also crafted the story, as well as written the screenplay, along with Ellen Shanman. As for the cast, Henry Cavill, Sterling K. Brown, Alba Baptista, and Rita Ora are all onboard, with Todd Lieberman via Hidden Pictures, Bob Koplar, and Hobie Films’ David Hoberman all joining as producers.

We have to admit that we’re amped. We’d love to see a Voltron resurgence in both the theaters and toy aisles.

Street Fighter busts loose

By now everybody has probably seen the first trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie. The flick looks all kinds of crazy, and generally had social media going equally nutso over it. If you haven’t see it yet, don’t expect grim and gritty. The flick is looking color-drenched and packed with over-the-top action.

The classic fighting game series will make the leap to the silver screen with a laundry list of big time talent as well. It’ll feature a mix of Hollywood and wrestling superstars, who’ll bring the full roster (minus Sagat for some reason) of Street Fighter II‘s heroes and villains to life.

And naturally, right there with the movie will be a line of action figures and more. Those will once again be brought to stores by Hasbro, who has a history with the World Warriors. We very fondly remember those original Street Fighter figures, which were a spinoff of Hasbro’s 3.75″ G.I. Joe line. The line might not have been the most faithful of things, but it was all kinds of fun, stocking figures and vehicles.

“Returning to Street Fighter is more than a collaboration – it’s a homecoming rooted in one of the most influential video games of all time,” said Tim Kilpin, President of Toy, Licensing, and Entertainment at Hasbro. “Our work on Street Fighter II: The World Warrior gave us firsthand insight into what makes these characters so iconic. That connection to the franchise’s origins allows us to honor its legacy while delivering new products that capture the spirit, style, and energy fans have embraced for decades.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with Hasbro to bring the iconic Street Fighter film and experience into the homes of devoted fans,” said Amber Sheppo, SVP of Consumer Products & Partnerships at Legendary. “Legendary has a proven track record of translating beloved IP with passionate fan bases into cultural moments through our films, and we can’t wait to see audiences around the globe engage with the full Street Fighter universe both in theaters and at home.”

Hasbro press release

Street Fighter back in the same company as G.I. Joe? Sounds pretty good to us, even if they’re not under the same banner. As for a release, there’s no word on when the new toys might be hitting just yet, though we’d expect to have news soon. Hasbro says that it’ll be sharing more “in the coming months” after all, and the movie actually debuts this year.

Starring “Noah Centineo (Ken), Andrew Koji (Ryu), Callina Liang (Chung-Li), Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoai (Akuma), David Dastmalchian (M. Bison), Cody Rhodes (Guile), with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Balrog), and Jason Momoa (Blanka), and many others”, Street Fighter arrives in theaters on October 16th, 2026.
