Hot Toys’ Snowtrooper Commander targets pre-order this Friday

Surprise! A new Star Wars figure from Hot Toys has just been revealed, with the Snowtrooper Commander heading to pre-orders.

When Imperial forces took to the frozen wastes of Hoth in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, it was with a decisive victory in their sights. Sure, Rebellion leadership got away, and a few walkers were lost, but the secret Rebel base was trampled all the same. And right there leading the way for the Imperial legions were the Snowtrooper Commanders.

To be honest, we’re not too sure if the Snowtrooper Commander ever had an action figure before. And we mean any action figure. We kind of assume there was one at some point, but we’ll be darned if we can remember it.

If they haven’t though, then the cold weather field commanders are about to get a sharp introduction to collector’s shelving. That will come by way of the Snowtrooper Commander 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure from Hot Toys.

Just revealed by retailer Sideshow, this new offering serves up the rarely seen trooper with all the trimmings. Fans can look for a full range of accessories to be included, along with a display base, and some terrific-looking detailing.

Before you get to the images and info though, hang on because this isn’t your usual Hot Toys release. The Snowtrooper Commander will be a limited launch for the company, with only 3000 being made available globally. The figure is also targeted for specific territories only too, though the US is one of them.

As such, Sideshow is taking RSVP’s now for when pre-orders open. That’s scheduled for this Friday, December 5th, by the way.

Available in a limited quantity of 3,000 units in selected markets only, the Snowtrooper Commander™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure features a finely crafted Snowtrooper Commander helmet and armor, authentically recreated to capture the character’s appearance in the film. The Commander’s chest armor carries a small red and blue badge to show his rank, while the white uniform includes a flocked and textured coat, a utility belt, and boots that convey the cold-weather combat readiness of the Imperial assault forces.

The Snowtrooper Commander™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure is equipped with an E-11 blaster pistol, a DL-44 blaster rifle, and a thermal detonator which is attachable to the character’s belt. The figure also features eight interchangeable hands and a snow-themed stand, enabling a variety of display and posing options – from issuing commands to engaging in battle.
