NYCC ’25: Hasbro reveals TRON HasLab and more

It’s been a while, but TRON action figures are back on the grid. Hasbro announced a series of them at NYCC, plus a new HasLab.

Greetings programs, TRON is back

Yes, there’ve been TRON toys over the years. Those started with the original movie way back in 1982, but we’ve seen stuff recently as well. Pretty much all of those more current offerings have played off of the original film, and to varying degrees of success. If you’re anything like us, you want something a little more varied.

Namely, we’ve wanted to see action figures and collectibles spinning out of both the original and TRON: Legacy. That movie performed quite well for itself on the big screen, and doesn’t get nearly enough credit, given how generally cool it was. Well, at least as far as we’re concerned.

Hasbro is about to pick up that baton though, and carry the TRON universe back to stores. And from the looks of what was shown off at Comic Con this past weekend, it’s going to start things off with a little from both of the past silver screen releases.

No, interestingly enough, neither reveal has anything to do with TRON: Ares.

The classic Grid

As mentioned above, Hasbro has revealed a HasLab project focused on the original movie, and it’s up for funding right now. That’s right, TRON fans who’d like to back the project can do so as you read this, by way of Hasbro Pulse.

The crowd-funding campaign includes a set of 3.75″ figures, two light cycles, and a snazzy backdrop. And yes, all of that is molded after the original film, so it’s got a great retro 80s look to it. It’s looking like a sharp offering that hits all the high notes from the movie, and even lights up.

How’s that for keeping with the IP?

ENTER THE GRID

Greetings, Programs – the Grid awaits. The HasLab TRON: Heroes of the Grid 9.5 cm Collector’s Set invites fans to return to the digital world of the 1982 sci-fi classic with a crowdfunded centrepiece that captures the imagination of a hidden digital world. Featuring five highly detailed figures – Flynn, Yori, Sark, Program, and Tron – alongside two Light Cycles and a USB-powered LED display base, this 1:18 scale collector’s set captures the neon-soaked aesthetic of the Grid with screen-accurate sculpts and articulation. Each figure includes interchangeable hands, dynamic identity disc effects, and light wall accessories for authentic Light Cycle racing displays. With a target of 10,000 backers by 25. November 2025, fans have only a limited time to make this project a reality and secure a piece of cinematic history.

Hasbro press release

A Legacy renewed

Okay, so we have to apologize on this coverage as we don’t have imagery for you. Nevertheless, there’s a retail action figure line that’s coming up in addition to the HasLab. You can find pics of the first wave out there on the net pretty easily too, particularly via X. And if you’re a fan of the 2010 sequel, we recommend that you do.

The line is looking great, and will kick off with what looks to be a total of five figures and a vehicle. Rinzler (TRON), Kevin Flynn, Sam Flynn, Clu, and Quorra will all be included, along with a light cycle. The line seems right in the same vein as Hasbro’s other big lines too, and will be 6″ in scale with lots of articulation and what looks like some solid detailing.

Just a note though, before you go looking, as Quorra wasn’t ready for prime time just yet, and wasn’t shown at the Con. That’s according to toy-centric X account Preternia, so basically, stay tuned. As long as the word is accurate, we’d imagine we’ll be seeing images of her sooner than later.
