SDCC ’25: New Star Wars, X-Men ’97, and Transformers x Hot Wheels announced by Hasbro

Comic Con week might be over, but there are still some things worth talking about from the show, including Hasbro’s newest.

The Con rolls on

There’s always a little too much announced during Comic Con to keep up with, and Hasbro’s reveals fall into that category for us this year. The toy giant unleashed a cavalcade of upcoming products, under all of its biggest lines. And as goes the press release we’re reporting on here, that includes Star Wars, Marvel, and Transformers.

Just to let you know too, before you start reading, everything below is up for order now. Fans should be able to find it all via Hasbro Pulse, and additional online storefronts. Now, let’s get to those announcements.

From that galaxy far, far, away

On the Star Wars side, and this one is one of our favorite unveils of the Con, was a Black Series (6″) set that hailed back to the biggest moment from The Empire Strikes Back. You know the scene, the one where Darth Vader reveals his true identity to Luke. In this set, fans can look for both Vader and Luke Skywalker in his Bespin togs, as well as the setting for the big moment. Just check out that Vader posed in the gallery below. Too cool.

Also there with the above, was an appearance of the upcoming The Black Series edition of The Stranger. Hailing from Star Wars: The Acolyte, The Stranger comes with his lightsabers and a swappable helmeted portrait.

  • Leading the showcase is the epic STAR WARS The Black Series Darth Vader & Luke Skywalker 2-pack, a dramatic recreation of one of the most unforgettable scenes in cinema history. Featuring detailed sculpts and a display stand inspired by Cloud City, this set lets fans relive the powerful moment from Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back when Vader delivers his chilling truth to Luke.
  • From the darker corners of the galaxy, the STAR WARS The Black Series The Stranger (Qimir) arrives straight from the Disney+ series with striking likeness and articulation, while fan-favorites Jango Fett and Asajj Ventress (Bounty Hunter) bring their deadly skills and legacy to the Black Series with premium detail.

Fresh Vintage Collection reveals as well

But The Black Series wasn’t all that the galaxy far, far, away had in store for fans. On the flip side, there were some great The Vintage Collection figures shown as well. Those included 3.75″ editions for Han Solo and Chewbacca from A New Hope, plus the Imperial Shock Trooper from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Also joining the Star Wars galaxy, the STAR WARS The Vintage Collection Chewbacca pays homage to the original Kenner packaging with stunning retro design and heartwarming detail that brings the loyal Wookiee to life. Fans can also add the legendary smuggler himself with the Vintage Collection Han Solo, inspired by A New Hope, as well as the elite Imperial Shock Trooper, clad in iconic red-striped armor.

To me, my X-Men… ’97

As mentioned, Star Wars wasn’t the only property shown at SDCC. Hasbro also confirmed a large selection of new X-Men ’97 figures, playing off of the Disney+ show’s depictions of some staple mutants. Our pick is Cable, decked out in his 90s best, but that Morph figure is particularly neat as well. Not only does he have swappable heads, but one of them reflects Henry Peter Gyrich. We’re thinking that’s a first in the line appearance for him (in any form).

The Marvel Legends Series reveals from X-Men ‘97 bring beloved mutants back to the forefront. Marvel’s Logan returns as a weathered warrior with adamantium claws and grit to spare, while Marvel’s Morph shapeshifts into action with that trademark wisecracking flair. JubileeCableSunspot, and Emma Frost round out the mutant roster with show-accurate design, character-specific accessories, and packaging that’s as collectible as the figures themselves.

Transform, and roll out

And finally, Transformers fans got a look at two new Cybertronians that have a big Earthy connection. And by that we mean that they arrive in the form of a crossover with the perennial favorite brand, Hot Wheels. Somehow this hadn’t been thought of before, but Hot Wheels x Transformers is finally coming soon, and burning rubber with its first two releases.

As first releases in a line go to, these are particularly cool.

Shifting gears to another fan-favorite franchise, the Transformers Collaborative line rolls out two jaw-dropping new entries. TheHot Wheels® x Transformers Twin Mill™ blends the speed and style of Hot Wheels with the heroics of the Transformers universe, while the Hot Wheels® x Transformers Bone Shaker™ offers a bold new take on the iconic flame-skulled ride, complete with conversion and swagger.
