The Twisted Metal series is back for season two on Peacock, and the cast and crew were on hand at SDCC for a preview and more.
Welcome to Twisted Metal
Twisted Metal is indeed coming back to Peacock for what’ll be its season 2. But before that new set of episodes debuts, the cast and crew headed to SDCC for a panel that teased what’s to come. Well, that and a round of bumper cars at the Twisted Metal Bumper Battle activation.
On the panel end of things, fans in the audience were treated to a star-studded event. Executive producers Michael Jonathan Smith and Asad Qizilbash (PlayStation Productions), were joined by fellow EP and star Anthony Mackie, plus Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa (Samoa Joe), and Anthony Carrigan. The group talked about what would be coming up for the show’s sophomore season, plus showed off a few highlights.
Check out the official trailer below.
Following the revelations in the season one finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly TWISTED METAL tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.

Hitting the track

After the close of the panel, things got even more fun. The event moved over to the Twisted Metal Bumper Battle fan activation for some on-track action. There the panel members chose their bumper cars, all of which were made up to look like cars in the show. You know what came next, as they all got to some crashing and bashing.

But hang on, because things weren’t quite done after the rubbery dust had settled either. Series stars Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz had a phenomenal surprise for attendees, with a giveaway. No small prizes were included either, as some lucky fans nabbed PS5 consoles.
Sounds like Calypso’s tourney is paying off already.
