Nintendo Download: It’s Time To Set Up Shop

The classic property returns, as Tamagotchi Plaza continues the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series for Switch/Switch 2.

Not exactly like the 90s

Remember Tamagotchi? The diminutive LCD-screened simulator toys were all the rage in the 90s, bringing kids the ability to raise a virtual pet of sorts. While that form-factor is long gone however, the general theme lives on with the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series.

The latest entry in that video game series from Bandai Namco is set to make its debut on the Switch and Switch 2 tomorrow (June 27th), with Tamagotchi Plaza. Players can set up a little shop of their own in the game, specializing in eyeware, tea, or even a dentistry, engaging in solo, co-op, or versus play. The Switch 2 version even has mouse controls for some of the shops, so there are some differences between the two editions.

If setting up your own cute little store isn’t your cup of tea, maybe you’d prefer the JRPG action of FRONT MISSION 3: Remake, which is also out this week. Add to that Irem Collection Volume 3 and a tidal wave of additional releases, and there’s quite a bit to check out.
