Unbox Star Wars’ Captain Rex in new Sideshow video

A modern Star Wars mainstay, Hot Toys’ newest take on Captain Rex is ripped right from the Ahsoka Disney+ show.

The other Cap

What an interesting time it’s been for Captain Rex. Originally featured in Star Wars Clone Wars era, the clone trooper captain has since made the jump to the original trilogy (sort of), and even the post-Jedi era that’s the focus of Disney’s televised offerings. Now Hot Toys is poised to release a brand new take on the Republic hero, and it’s the latest pieces of fiction that it’ll play off of.

There is one caveat though, in that the new edition will feature Captain Rex as he was in Star Wars: Ahsoka, which aired just a short time ago. So that means full clone trooper armor, Clone Wars style, complete with some swappable Phase I and Phase II pieces.

With the figure set to debut some time between May and July of this year, retailer Sideshow has published another one of its mini-unboxings. So if you’d like to get a more detailed look at what’ll be shipping soon, you can check that out below.

Inspired by his appearance in the epic Ahsoka™ show, the Captain Rex™ 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys features a detailed recreation of his distinctive clone trooper armor and helmet. Interchangeable Phase I and Phase II armor parts plus pauldrons are included. Rex also wears a magnetized utility pouch and a kama.

Always ready for battle, Rex is equipped with his signature dual blaster pistols plus a blaster rifle and a thermal detonator. This dynamic figure has over 30 points of articulation, allowing for an array of poses. A specially designed sand-themed figure base is included for an immersive display.

Add this loyal and honorable soldier to your Star Wars collection. The Captain Rex™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys is now available to pre-order from Sideshow.

Sideshow press release

Captain Rex is priced in at $260 USD, and pre-orders are still available as of this writing.
