Both Monument Valley games drop for Switch this week, along with the LUNAR remasters, and those new Genesis additions.
The silver star story returns
It’s kind of a big week for the Nintendo Switch. But while Nintendo’s “Nintendo Download” is touting Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 arriving for the console, the two puzzlers aren’t the games we’re most exacted for. Nope, that would be the LUNAR Remastered Collection.
The classic duology of JRPG’s first appeared on the Sega CD, but have been ported to many (many) platforms since. If you’re not familiar, LUNAR takes place on a moon called The Silver Star, which orbits a dead world. It’s a high-fantasy, classically-styled and turn-based adventure that’s loaded with monsters, dragons, gods, and a certain Dragonmaster who’s out to save the world. We have some stellar memories of the game from its first run, as well as its revisitation on the PS1, so we’re stoked to see it again.
Those games are in addition to a pretty great new drop of Sega Genesis titles as well, that’ve arrived for the Nintendo Switch Online membership. Subscribers can grab and play a trio of all-timers for the console, with ESWAT, Super Thunder Blade, and the iconic Streets of Rage all being available now.
