Make your own pinball paradise with Meta Quest, as Zen Studios’ Pinball FX VR arrives on the virtual reality platform.
It’s all in the wrist action
What has to be the longest running pinball franchise ever, Zen Studios’ Pinball FX is a monster. The series has played host to dozens of simulated tables over the years, including a bevy of licensed ones that hail from some of the biggest properties in entertainment. And now, players can get up close and personal with it.
That’s right, Pinball FX is now available on virtual reality, with Pinball FX VR. Exclusively for the Meta Quest platform, Zen’s newest is set to deliver full VR via “immersion mode”. There fans can actually get into their own pinball arcade, complete with mini-games like dartboards, and even “vending machines, and interactive gadgets”. But that’s not all, as Meta Quest’s augmented reality function lets fans actually set up their own virtual game rooms.
Check it out in action below.
Alongside an array of exciting global campaigns and challenges, gamers don’t just play Pinball FX VR — it’s an immersive, mixed-reality world. They can place their favorite tables in their actual rooms, dive into a host of mini-games, and more.
Zen Studios press release
Pinball FX VR is priced at $9.99 USD on the Meta store, and includes a suite of three games to get you started, with Zen’s own Sky Pirates: Treasures of the Clouds, Pinball Noir, and Curse of the Mummy. As with every Pinball FX title though, there’s much more that you can add, by buying additional tables.
Available on that end, are Williams titles that are just making their way to VR for the first time, including Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure and The Addams Family. There are more to choose from though, with World Cup Soccer, Twilight Zone, and Star Trek: The Next Generation also available, and the Universal Pinball: TV Classic pack.
Included there are tables featuring Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider, and fantasy TV classic Xena: Warrior Princess. Still not enough for you? Well, hang on, because Zen says that you can expect that “more tables will become available in the months after Pinball FX VR’s launch.”
