X-Force #8 debuts new villain La Diabla with Jay Anacleto cover

The latest iteration of Marvel Comics’ now-classic mutant team X-Force is getting a brand new villain with La Diabla.

Dios mio

Formed in the days after the Krakoan age came to an end, the new X-Force team was forged to rumble with world-threatening events and foes. “Forged” being the operative term, since it was assembled by longtime mutant hero Forge, and includes fellow mainstays Betsy Braddock and Rachel Summers, plus a rotating list of guest-stars and new(ish) heroes Surge, Tank, and Sage.

The book spins out of Geoffrey Thorne and Marcus To, and has so far seen a series of missions that are about to be tied together. It seems the team is going to have a name for its ongoing pain, and it’s brand new baddie, La Diabla.

An alchemical fiend, La Diabla is set to be revealed in next month’s issue #8, and features on a cover penciled by Jay Anacleto.

Geoffrey Thorne and Marcus To’s X-FORCE continues to be the most action-packed X-Men title on stands! Assembled by Forge to tackle world-ending threats, the latest iteration of the deadly mutant strike team embark on non-stop missions across the globe, but their victories have been riddled with distrust, secrets, and sacrifice. Recently, they came face-to-face with the seeming orchestrator behind Earth’s impeding destruction—LA DIABLA! A brilliant alchemist, this mysterious villain’s debut has only raised more questions and chaos, and curious X-fans should prepare themselves as the full scope of her agenda is revealed. To mark the introduction of this new X-baddie, Jay Anacleto spotlights her on a new variant cover for X-FORCE #8, La Diabla’s first-ever cover appearance.

“La Diabla is formidable and very much designed to give both Forge and Sage fits,” Thorne told ComicBook.com in a recent interview. “I wanted to put some new villains with new agendas and new powersets into the mix and La Diabla is just the first. As X-Force learns more about her, so will the audience but she is absolutely not to be trifled with or underestimated.”

Anacleto’s cover will also be available as a Virgin Variant Cover. Check it out and preorder X-FORCE #8 at your local comic shop today! For more information, visit Marvel.com.
