Hot Toys’ new Joker Artisan Edition get the unboxing treatment from Sideshow

Straight from The Dark Knight is Hot Toys’ latest take on Heath Ledger’s Joker. And it looks like an Artisan Edition not to be missed.

Why so serious?

Pretty easily one of the best-loved Batman films of all time, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight has had no shortage of action figures and collectibles. The movie not only continued the story of actor Christian Bale’s Batman, but also introduced the world to Heath Ledger’s Joker. A mixture of the character’s classic comic book incarnation and new elements, it was an immediately iconic vision of the maniacal villain.

For its part, high-end figure company Hot Toys has had a few figures based on TDK’s Joker already, but the best one might still be coming up. That’s because The Joker (Artisan Edition) 1/6 Scale Figure is looking all kinds of stunning. Apparently a lot of fans thought the same too, because the figure is currently sold out at retailer Sideshow.

It’s worth mentioning though, that even though it’s sold out Sideshow has opened a waiting list, so if you’ve yet to secure yours, you can try your luck with that. The Joker’s iconic makeup is expertly applied by hand and the highly realistic look is completed with custom-dyed green hair made from rooted wool.
 
The figure has a newly developed 1/6 scale body which has been designed with a more screen-accurate physique and enhanced articulation. The Joker’s signature costume has been perfectly recreated with incredible attention to detail, replicating all of the outfit’s fine textures and patterns in miniature — from his tailored fabric topcoat, blazer, vest, and dress shirt all the way down to his socks!

This stunning collectible comes with an array of accessories including a veritable arsenal of guns, grenades, and knives, as well as The Joker’s playing cards, a pencil, a bank note, and an LED light-up diorama display base.
