Lionsgate debuts new scene for The Crow reboot, as IMAX tickets go on sale

The modern reboot of The Crow is rapidly coming up (including to IMAX), and Lionsgate has launched new footage to entice film-goers.

Put the wrong things right

Well, for good or ill, director Rupert Sanders’ The Crow is incoming at a high rate of speed. The action film looks to be a more high-octane version of the now-familiar story, which originally debuted as a graphic novel, before getting adapted into an iconic film in 1994.

That’s one of the challenges that this new movie faces actually, since that Brandon Lee-starring flick was such a cultural touchstone. Anything that comes afterwards, and looks to tell the same story in a new way, is just flat-out going to get some eyebrows arched.

Again though, whether the new Bill Skarsgård, FKA twigs, and Danny Huston starring flick does it for you or not, it’s almost here. And with that in mind, Lionsgate has a fresh piece of footage for you to check out, showing the unkillable anti-hero in action.

Take a look at that below, and maybe it might just change your mind.

Bill Skarsgård takes on the iconic role of THE CROW in this modern reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O’Barr.

Soulmates Eric (Skarsgård) and Shelly (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.

Lionsgate press release

The Crow hits theaters on August 23rd, and as mentioned that will include the biggest screens out there. IMAX theaters will be getting the movie day and date with the standard release, and tickets are on sale right now, for those who’d like to buy ahead.

You can do just that for both IMAX and regular movie houses right here, on The Crow’s official site.
