SDCC ’24: Paramount Animation and Hasbro unleash new look at Transformers One

Transform and roll out… and into theaters this September for the first animated Transformers film in a long time.

That’s a little more like it

If you caught the first look at Transformers One, which landed this past April, you got a peek at the first fully-animated Transformers film since the ’80s original. Of course, it looked significantly different from that classic, with CG visuals and a younger take on the stars that you know and love.

And while the trailer showed off a cast that was inexperienced, it also contained one that was a lot more comical than fans are probably used to. But that was then, and this is now. And the latest sneak peek has a ton more action, and much more gravitas. Now, don’t get the wrong idea, because there’s still plenty of humor here. It’s not all grim and dark, as this isn’t War for Cybertron, but overall you’ll definitely find a more serious tone this time around.

So if the first-look wasn’t for you, give this a spin:

TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. In the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, TRANSFORMERS ONE features a star-studded voice cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, with Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.

Paramount Animation press release

From director Josh Cooley, and starring Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, and Steve Buscemi, Transformers One hits theaters on September 20th, 2024.
