Thundercats #3 (Comics) Preview

Issue #3 of Dynamite Comics’ hit Thundercats series is set to intro a new take on Snarf, and will sport a Rob Liefeld variant cover.

SNARF!

A big first-appearance is coming to Dynamite Comics’ Thundercats book for its third issue. Or, actually, maybe we should say it’s going to be a ‘small’ first-appearance, since we’re talking about the diminutive ball of fluff that is Snarf.

Now, this won’t be the Snarf that you’re used to, and we can say that no matter what era of the ‘Cats you’re used to. Dynamite says that this will be “a new take” on the classic nursemaid (and kinda pet) of the Thundercats’ leader Lion-O, and fans should be looking for a version who’s filled with “some mystery and nods to other iterations”.

You can check out an unlettered preview of issue #3 below.

It’s been a total rollercoaster with our latest huge industry-shaking title! THUNDERCATS is on everyone’s minds, the tips of their tongues, and hopefully their pull lists at your store. Two issues are out now and there are many more to come in this incredible story from Declan Shalvey, Drew Moss and the rest of the team. The second issue saw the first appearance of CALICA as a brand new member of the cast. Now in this third issue fans will be excited to see SNARF’s first appearance in the series. The beloved pet of lead Lion-O is given a new take in this era, but with some mystery and nods to other iterations… We’re also pairing this third issue with a historic third printing of #1! We want to keep this series accessible along the way. The hype continues to build with wildfire-like word of mouth and coverage from press and influencers, and we want newcomers to always be able to jump into the series!

Dynamite Comics press release

Up for pre-order now, Thundercats #3 will have an absolute onslaught of covers for fans to pick from. Those include special variants from industry legends Rob Liefeld and Jae Lee, one that centers on the newly-appearing Snarf, an “action figure” variant, and (our favorite) a cover that has the slick Thundertank in action.

Also very much worth noting is that issue #3 will launch right alongside another reprinting of Thundercats #1. So if you missed out, now’s the time to hop onboard.
