TMNT #150 to close out the current run with the conclusion to “Armageddon Game”

While the current Ninja Turtles universe will be continuing at IDW, the ongoing series will be ending with April’s #150.

Before you start thinking this is the end of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, remember that it was just a few days ago that publisher IDW announced a new deal to roll on with the brand. But while the heroes will be starring in some new adventures from the company, the series that’s running now will indeed end with number 150.

It’s been a heck of a run to get to this point though, as IDW’s book has run though and interconnected pretty much every theme and character that’s ever existed under the “Turtles” title. Shredder? Of course he was there. Krang, Dimension X, and the Utrom race? Yes, there was a ton with all of those characters and themes, plus Bebop and Rocksteady, and plenty more.

Bringing all of that around, the upcoming landmark #150 will hit stores in April, closing out the Armageddon Game storyline. The culmination of that will focus on Donatello and the villainous Armaggon, who’s seeking to wipe the brothers out completely through the alteration of history itself.

With that theme in play, could we be looking at a kind of ‘Flashpoint’ for the Turtles? Remember that IDW is ending this series and kicking off a new one, so that’d kind of make sense. Whatever the 68 page comic brings, it’ll come by way of writer Sophie Campbell and a collection of artists.

Written by acclaimed author Sophie Campbell, the massive, epic and emotional TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #150 is the must-read conclusion of the ongoing series – fear not, shellheads, because more will be revealed about what’s next for TMNT soon! This momentous milestone issue will feature art by ARMAGEDDON GAME’s Vincenzo Federici and longtime TMNT creatives colorist Ronda Pattison and letterer Shawn Lee. Returning for this giant issue are former series artists Dan DuncanFero Pe, and Campbell.

IDW press release

“For me, the IDW TMNT Comic Book Universe is a definitive one. When it was launched in 2011, Tom Waltz proposed to bring together elements from the first 25 years of storytelling, and from all various TMNT Universes, and with the help of a small army of extremely talented artisans, and nailed it brilliantly for 100 consecutive issues. Passing the baton off to Sophie Campbell for the following 50 fantastic issues solidified this TMNT foundation as the place where anything is, was, and has been possible. This wonderful place has been our collective ‘home’ for the past 12 years, and although we may see a ‘conclusion,’ but after 40 years of adventures, we won’t see an end.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #150 lands on the racks this April the 10th.
