Diamond’s Lord of the Rings collection continues this week with Boromir and the Uruk-hai Lurtz

Make some more room on that Lord of the Rings shelf, because the next volley of figures from DST is hitting right now.

The war of the Ring continues

A few months ago, when Diamond Select revealed that its Lord of the Rings action figure line would be back, it was a nice surprise. It’d been a while since the original four waves had concluded after all, and some fans had thought the series finished.

So it’s particularly cool this week, to see that fifth wave hit stores. It’s a lineup that includes both Boromir and his nemesis from the final moments of the first film, Lurtz. Both are huge characters from that movie, though the Uruk-hai Lurtz really wasn’t in the film all that much. Still, he definitely made an impact, attacking both Boromir and the future king of Gondor, Aragorn.

As usual with these figures, both of these new issuances look to be nicely sculpted and detailed, and come complete with 16 points of articulation. Although the promo shots don’t show any accessories, if the original waves are anything to go by, these guys should have plenty of alternate parts and weapons packed-in as well.
