One of the biggest names in collectibles here in the modern age, Super7 is about to get the full art book treatment from Dark Horse.
Now that’s super
The name “Super7” is fairly ubiquitous at this point, at least it is if you’re a toy collector. And that’s especially true if you’re one such collector who’s into the toy lines and pop culture of the 1980s. Super7 is a company that has become masterful at reviving those classics of yesteryear, and aiming them squarely at the people who miss ’em most.
With Masters of the Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Thundercats, The Simpsons and more under its roof, they’re kind of a one stop shop. And now, as you can see, Super7 will be getting a full and “oversized art book” from the folks at Dark Horse.
Presented in hardcover format, and clocking in at a whopping 216 pages, this one should cover most of what fans love about the California-based company.
Science fiction, giant monsters, comic books, punk, skateboarding, robots, and rebellion: these elements form the manifesto of pop-culture knowledge, graphics, aesthetics, and DIY energy that is Super7. Explore each of these obsessions through the creative offerings of one of the premier design houses of lifestyle-oriented collectibles, toys, and apparel.
The Art of Super7 explores the art, design, and packaging of official product collections that include G.I. Joe, Universal Monsters, Masters of the Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Thundercats, Transformers, and Peanuts, in addition to music legends Mötorhead, Misfits, Beastie Boys, Ghost, O.D.B., as well as Super7’s own in-house creations and many, many more.
Dark Horse Books press release
The Art of Super7 is expected to land in bookstores on February 13th, 2024. Of course, comics shops will get in on the action as well, and will get it just in time for Valentine’s Day, on February 14th.
