Test your (Twisted) Metal as the cast of the Peacock show gets down on a little old school car-combat

Fresh from Comic Con last weekend, Peacock’s adaptation of Twisted Metal is set to hit the streaming service this week.

Peacock showed off the first episode of Twisted Metal at an exclusive Comic Con screening this past weekend, but before that, there were some games to play. Cast members Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz joined showrunner Michael Johnathan Smith for that, and engaged in a little classic Twisted Metal Black action.

Along with the on-screen multiplay, the trio also talked a little nostalgia. If you don’t know, the show takes place in 2002, after an apocalypse more or less wipes out the civilized world. So much of Twisted Metal’s America is an extension of 90s culture.

TWISTED METAL, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
