Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hits digital tomorrow, physical formats in October

The latest big-screen Transformers outing is about to make its way into homes everywhere. Rise of the Beasts hits digital tomorrow.

Beastly

After a theatrical run that isn’t quite over yet in some markets, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is on its way to home video. The movie did well though, grossing more than some prognosticators thought it would. Not only did it top the box office at launch, but Optimus Prime and company knocked a pair of heavyweights down the charts, in both the latest Spider-Man animated film and The Little Mermaid.

As of this writing, Rise of the Beasts’ theatrical take stands at over $350 million USD, so it’s been a shock in a nice way. Though honestly, it seems as though most people in general continue to underestimate Transformers movies in general. Outside of aberrations, they typically do pretty well.

If you didn’t catch it in theaters though, or would just like to check out the 90s-era spectacle again, you’re in luck. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts begins its journey home tomorrow, July 11th. I say “begins”, because this is the digital launch, and the physical one won’t be along for a few months yet.

Buying into the digital version though, will net you some extras. Fans who pick it up will be able to check out over an hour of bonus content, including a deeper look at the retro world that was created for the film, and the myriad of Cybertronian factions at play in it.

Extras include:

  • Human Affairs— In a world of robots, machines, and aliens, we explore the humans who help save the world.
  • Life in the 90s— The filmmakers discuss how the music, set design, fashion, and cultural references transport viewers to New York in the 90s.
  • Heroes— Get an inside look at the inspiration and thought process behind designing the AUTOBOTS and the MAXIMALS.
  • Villains—Watch as the filmmakers bring the TERRORCONS and PREDACONS to life.
  • The Chase— Meet MIRAGE, a new AUTOBOT that converts into a 1993 Porsche, and experience the adrenaline-filled car chase through New York City.
  • The Battle of Ellis Island— Join the cast and crew as they go behind-the-scenes of the epic battle sequence between the AUTOBOTS and the TERRORCONS at the museum.
  • Into the Jungle— The TRANSFORMERS franchise has been filmed all over the globe. This time, join the cast and crew as they explore the new and exotic location of Peru.
  • The Switchback Attack— Witness the wild, intense driving sequences filmed on location in Peru where the AUTOBOTS fight the TERRORCONS through a town square and into the mountains 15,000 feet up.
  • The Final Conflict— Get a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s epic climax. Watch as the AUTOBOTS, MAXIMALS, Noah, and Elena attempt to save the world.
  • Extended/Deleted Scenes—Includes an alternate opening and ending to the film!

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hits digital, for purchase or rental, tomorrow July 11th. If you’re waiting on that physical disc, that’ll be along on October 10th, in 4K Ultra HD SteelBook, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and plain old DVD formats.
