Get rolling (on a train) with the latest look at Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one

Crashing an actual train for a stunt in a film could be described as… Impossible. But that’s just what was done for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one.

Only Cruise

If you thought Dead Reckoning (parts one and two) would be the end for the Mission: Impossible series, you were dead wrong. Actor and star Tom Cruise recently said he wants to shoot these films til he’s in his 80s. Yes, seriously.

And even if he’s not at the center of them, and ‘in the field’ as agent Ethan Hunt, it’s kind of tough to imagine that wouldn’t work out. After all, what other modern action film series has stunts like this?

In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.

Paramount Pictures press release

From director Chris McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one is set to open up its theatrical run this month, on July 12th.
