TMNT x Stranger Things continues, this time in the comics realm

You might’ve seen some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Stranger Things action figures not too long ago, but the crossover isn’t stopping there.

80s. NYC. Things are… strange

Chances are, if you’re a fan of either the TMNT or Stranger Things, then you probably have a fondness for the 1980s. And while the action figure crossover wasn’t exactly all that great when it hit stores a short time back, you might’ve even picked up a few of the packs.

You’d be forgiven though, if you thought that was just kinda going to be that for any kind of crossover. After all, the two IP’s don’t exactly mesh all that well. Or… do they? Turns out that’s exactly the thinking of comic book, publisher IDW, who’ve got one heck of an upside-down crossover planned out.

Eleven, Max, Dustin, Mike, Will, and Lucas are looking forward to a nonthreatening, fun-filled trip to New York City. With the gang hundreds of miles from the otherworldly weirdness of their hometown, they’re sure to catch a break this time…or at least that’s what they think until they encounter a threat both bizarre and familiar. To face that threat, they must unite with a fearsome fighting team every bit as bizarre…but green!

IDW press release

Bizarre indeed, but then again it’s not like the Turtles are any strangers to dimension-hopping. Think Krang might figure into this title event? Never know. What we doing know for sure though, is that the story will of course take place in the 1980s, and in NYC (double “of course”).

You’ll be able to find all of the variant editions that you see above on the stands this July, for part one of the new four-part miniseries.
