Definitely not shaving cream
It’s been the subject of memes galore, and remains the central element of the most defining moments from Jurassic Park. Of course, I’m talking about the shaving cream can that the company Biosyn supplied to Dennis Nedry.
Played by Wayne Knight in the film, Nedry was a double-agent of sorts, working for John Hammond as well as his rival. The job was seemingly simple, stage a security shutdown and move a selection of Jurassic Park’s dinosaur embryos off of Isla Nublar.
And facilitating that, said can held a false bottom, one that unscrewed to reveal cryogenic tubes for containing those baby dinos. Of course, the storm hit and all hell broke loose, but that’s what you get for trusting Newman.
Good thing he has nothing at all to do with what collectible-maker Paragon FX has revealed this week. A replica of the previously mentioned cryo-can is coming up from the company, and it looks to have all the bells and whistles JP fans could want.
Working closely with Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, Paragon FX Group’s team was given access to the original hero-prop used in the film’s production. This close-up study of the original has given us the opportunity to replicate everything from the proper labels on the centrifuge tubes, right down to the very inventory tags that are present on the original prop as it sits in the studio archives. Identical to the original, Paragon will be manufacturing this piece in metal. This multi-piece CNC machined replica will also feature a ‘pop-up’ centrifuge rack and of course, the entire unit can be seated within a Barbasol can.

Each one of these bad boys will ship with “10 microcentrifuge tubes w/ labels, Barbasol canister, and studio inventory tags”. Priced in at $399.99 USD, the cans are set to ship some time this summer. Check ’em out here.
