Here’s an in-depth look at Asmus Toys’ new Nazgul figure

The nine return, thanks to Asmus Toys, who will be continuing the popular Lord of the Rings collector-figure line with a terrifying Ringwraith.

Frodo… Shire

One of the flat-out most recognizable parts of a fiction that’s packed with recognizable parts, the Ringwraiths are the most imposing of dark lord Sauron’s armies. Originally a selection of kings, the so-called Nazgul were tricked with the rings of power, and enslaved by Sauron. Eventually they fell to shadow completely, becoming the famed wraiths.

Now Asmus Toys’ series of 12″ figures will be delving into these villains, with a brand new collector-figure. The figure ships this month, and retailer Sideshow Toys has a detailed look posted for eager fans.

Inspired by the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Nazgûl 1/6 Scale Figure by Asmus Collectible Toys exquisitely captures the chilling presence of a Ringwraith. Clad in highly detailed alloy armor, the imposing figure includes forearm and calf braces as well as a selection of gauntleted hands in a variety of poses. The Nazgûl is also draped in a black hooded robe made from fabric which has been expertly distressed to replicate the ghoulishly tattered cloaks as seen in the films. The figure comes fully armed with a Nazgûl sword, a Morgul blade, and a Witch-king sword, all of which include scabbards and are made from alloy.

Sideshow Toys press release

While it’d be expensive to assemble, you could theoretically assemble the nine with his new figure. You know, since it comes with both a Nazgul blade, and the Witch-King’s sword. Just sayin’.

And though the figure is set to ship some time this very month, it’s actually still up for pre-order from Sideshow. So if you want to lock one (or 9) up for yourself, you can do so here.
