Go back to the era of 4-color gaming in B.I.O.T.A., a Metroidvania that serves up classic action/platformer gameplay, with plenty of modern convenience.
Classic but modern
How well do you remember the days of pea-green gaming on Nintendo’s original GameBoy? Retrovibe and developer small bros clearly have some fond recollections, because B.I.O.T.A. is packing plenty of nostalgia.
The action-oriented platformer follows the now-classic Metroidvania formula, though it’s not stuck in the past at all. In addition to the aesthetic, B.I.O.T.A. also loads up with a save feature, and a nifty color-changing option. As you play, you can unlock 54 different 4-color palettes that you can swap on the fly.
That’s in addition to 8 playable characters and multiple modes of play.
B.I.O.T.A. is a 2D metroidvania action-platformer set in a mining colony infected by an alien plague. It features 8 playable characters, a story campaign, arcade levels, and additional game modes. B.I.O.T.A. mixes the charm of retro games with the modern-day convenience of full controller support, saving anywhere, and more.
Retrovibe press release
