Capcom’s Great Ace Attorney Chronicles hits consoles and PC on July 27th

Great Ace Attorney Chronicles updates fans today with a fresh trailer and assortment of info. The title is set to land on consoles and PC next month.

If you missed the news during E3 last week, Ace Attorney is back! Well, it’s kind of back anyway. And by that, I mean that Capcom’s courtroom series is returning with a new main character and locale. Actually, it’s a new time-period as well.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles takes Phoenix Wright and replaces him with Ryunosuke Naruhodo. Who’s that? Wright’s ancestor, who happens to live in the Victorian age. But even though the title boasts the English era as a backdrop, it seems as though Naruhodo will bounce back and forth between England and Japan. So the Japanese Meiji Period will be in play as well.

As for the gameplay, fans of the series already know what to expect. The staple courtroom scenes will return, along with something new called the “Dance of Deduction”. This new element will see English detective Herlock Shlomes (yes, really) come into play. Naruhodo will have to engage with Shlomes to figure if his “outlandish conclusions” are on the money, or way off base.

In the latest trailer, fans are given a front-seat look at the vibrant world, captivating characters and thrilling gameplay that await them in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Players will assume the role of an aspiring Japanese attorney named Ryunosuke Naruhodo, an ancestor of the courtroom legend himself, Phoenix Wright. With the help of his legal aid Susato Mikatoba and London’s great detective Herlock Sholmes, Ryunosuke will solve the mysteries behind 10 high-stakes cases set in the late 19^th century during Japan’s Meiji Period and England’s Victorian Era.
