McFarlane’s Dune action figures hitting stores now

The Dune movie might still be almost a year off, but there are action figures to buy right now. Just in time for the holidays, Dune wave 1 is officially out.

Another thing on-hold from the hellish year that was 2020, Dune was originally scheduled to be release this very month (December 2020). But that was before covid wreaked havoc across the entire globe.

At this point, like so many other theater-experiences and happenings, Dune has been delayed into 2021. Specifically, it’s now set to open up in theaters (and presumably on demand as well) on October 1st. But as with some other properties, the delay of the movie will not mean a delay of the accompanying merchandise.

McFarlane Toys is making the action figures for the new film, and they’re hitting store right now. So you can load up on Dune before loading up on Dune. That might be a little off-putting for some prospective fans, but Dune has a massive fanbase already, and they just might like what they see out of McFarlane.

Falling right in line with the company’s new push for superior articulation, wave 1 of Dune will stand in at the company’s usual 7″ scale. The wave will feature four basic figures, which will all come with parts to Build-A 5th figure (actor Dave Bautista’s Beast Rabban), and one deluxe edition. That’ll be the gigantic 12″ Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. And yes, he’s apparently in scale with the 7″ figures.

Each will star the faces of the movie’s players including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgård, and the aforementioned Bautista.

Stilgar(Javier Bardem)

• Stilgar, leader of the Fremen warriors of Dune and a man of great wisdom, is featured in a Fremen Stillsuit that enables the human body to survive in the sun-scorched open deserts of Arrakis.
• Stilgar comes with a crysknife, fremkit, base, and the piece to the Build-A Rabban figure.

Beast Rabban Build-A-Figure (Dave Bautista)

• Rabban, a towering brutal force of nature, is assembled when combining all four pieces from the McFarlane Toys Dune Build-A line: Duncan Idaho, Lady Jessica, Paul Atreides, and Stilgar.
• Rabban comes with his deadly inkvine whip and sword.

Baron Harkonnen

McFarlane Toys is also offering an impressive Dune Collectible 12-inch Baron Vladimir Harkonnen figure inspired by the likeness of Stellan Skarsgård.
