Here’s the first footage of Bandai Namco’s Fast & Furious Crossroads

Insane jumps, takedowns aplenty, huge explosions, and over the top action abound in Bandai Namco’s take on the Fast & Furious movie series.

Do it fast, do it furious

Perennial racing/action movie series Fast & Furious seems to never run out of gas. Vin Diesel might headline, but the movies star a stable of series regulars. Those include the likes of Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, and Dwayne Johnson.

Straight-up ‘action’ films are not too common these days. The action movies of old seem to have pretty universally given way to superhero films. Still, F&F holds strong even against the tidal wave of Marvel and DC. And now it’s making its way to the video game universe.

Bandai Namco’s Fast & Furious Crossroads is the first game to feature the license. It makes its way tot eh finish line courtesy of developer Slightly Mad Studios, and it looking suitably insane.

As you an see, this is no ‘racer’. The game will hold true to the series, in that it’ll feature missions that you will play through. According to Bandai Namco, those will feature plenty of “gadgets, death defying heists and iconic vehicles”.

Oh, and stars too. Didn’t think Vin would sit this one out, did you?

The Fast & Furious Crossroads story mode expands the Fast & Furious universe—with Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson reprising their roles as Dom, Letty, and Roman in an action-packed adventure set across stunning global locations, including Athens, Barcelona and Morocco. Joining the cast are Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery, The Walking Dead) and Asia Kate Dillon (Billions, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum).

Fast & Furious Crossroads revs up its engine for release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam) this August the 7th.
