Villainous variants take over Marvel’s line this summer

Set to go right alongside the Acts of Evil event taking place later this summer, Marvel Comics will have a round of evil variant covers ready.

Eeeeeevil

Acts of Evil is coming. The thematic event will be playing out across Marvel Comics’ slate of annual issues later this summer, from August through September.

If you don’t know what Acts is, it’s more or less a series of versus matchups. Heroes and villains who don’t usually fight each other will be paired for battles across the slate of upcoming Annual Issues.

While there have been quite a few of the novel matches announced, Acts doesn’t look like it will encompass Marvel’s entire line. More than that, the theme won’t extend into ongoing series’ at all. This one’s Annuals only.

But while there won’t be stories bleeding into the monthly line, there will be covers. Because of course there will. Marvel has revealed that their newest variant cover push will be titled “Bring on the Bad Guys”.

The selection will include 23 classic Marvel battles like Venom vs Carnage and Hulk vs Abomination, and even a Conan title will be in on the fun.

There’s no strict date on any of these, but Marvel is talking about them in conjunction with Acts of Evil. So fair money is on them arriving at retail around the time of the Annuals.
