Halloween, or actually Geheimnisnacht, comes to Warhammer: Vermintide 2

The Old World’s version of Halloween is a little more… not fun. Though it probably is if you’re playing it in Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and not living through it.

That old Geheimnisnacht feeling

Here in the real world, Halloweenn means costumes, pumpkins, candy and a general good time. In Warhammer’s Old World through, they have Geheimnisnacht.

GeheimnisnachtGeheimnisnacht, or the Night of Mysteries, is the most ill-omened night of the year. It is one of only two nights in which Morrslieb, the accursed Chaos moon, is full.

Yeah, it’s a little less joyful than Halloween. Again though, actually playing it in a video game sounds like it’d be plenty of fun. And if you’re a Warhammer Vermintide 2 player, you’re probably going to love it, since the “holiday” celebration is a free download.

The event kicked off today, October 29th, and will run through November 4th. It shakes things up quite a bit in the game too, and include:

  • Night Mode for all levels – no more daylight
  • The Keep is looking particularly nice
  • New portrait frames
  • Trophy room

Not bad for a free download. That it’s Halloween themed (sort of) at all is great too, it’s always fun to see that. Honestly holiday “crossovers” are a shockingly rare occurrence in gaming. Your game should update upon play for either the Xbox One or PC version, so feel free to dive right in.
