SDCC 2018: DC Universe goes big with outdoor attraction

DC’s new streaming service will be in full effect at next week’s SDCC. Interactive displays for Titans, Young Justice, Swamp Thing and more will be on hand.

A universe of fun

We already know that DC’s “DC Universe” streaming service will be pretty impressive. With comics, cartoons, movies, original programming and even exclusive collectibles on offer, it’s looking sharp. And if you’re going to Comic Con next week, you’ll be able to dive right in.

The DC Universe Experience will be opening up right across the street from the convention center, in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter (Hilton San Diego Gaslamp, at 401 K Street). There you’ll be able to experience a few of DC’s headlining properties up close and personal.

What’s that mean? Well…

  • Explore Dick Grayson’s Titans loft and uncover clues to his whereabouts

  • Experience the mysterious creations of Dr. Niles Caulder in the Doom Patrol lab

  • Avoid succumbing to the deadly virus in the mystical swamps of Swamp Thing

  • Join earth’s newest superhero team in the Young Justice Watchtower

  • Create mayhem in the Harley Quinn chaos room

  • Step into the sewers with Batman and descend into madness in The Court of Owls

  • Enjoy the first public unveiling of rare artwork and memorabilia only previously seen in exclusive engagements

  • Discover hidden clues and get an exclusive first-look at the DC UNIVERSE digital subscription service

  • And so much more…

The event will run from the 19th through the 22nd, which is also the last day of the Con. Opening at 9:30 am, the installation will close up officially at 7pm Thursday through Saturday, and at 5pm on Sunday. While those are the closing times that will be posted, be aware that lines will cap off an hour ahead of time. So it’s more like the show closes at 6pm and 4pm. Just a head’s up.

Also pretty cool is that DC has already posted a page for signing up to take part. While you can still do that at the “door”, signing up online will “streamline” the process according to the publisher, and will hopefully make for a better time when you get there.

You can both find out more about the DC Universe Experience and pre-register for attendance right here.
