Microsoft’s game preview program for the Xbox One is about to get one of the biggest RPGs in years. Divinity: Original Sin 2 lands on the console this month.
Get a taste of Divinity
From Larian Studios, Divinity has really made an impact with RPG gamers in recent years. Both the first and second installments of the Original Sin series have been incredibly well received by PC audiences, and now Original Sin 2 is on the way to consoles in the form of a Definitive Edition.
The role-playing game will offer hours of classic gameplay, along with the developer’s signature sense of humor. And for Xbox One gamers, it’ll do it for free. Well, partly anyway. Larian has announced that the first three hours of the game will be free via Game Preview.
When you finish the sample, you can then choose to unlock the rest of Act 1 by pre-ordering the full game digitally. And yes, that means that your progress will carry over. But it won’t just carry into that bigger preview, since the full game will be playable right from where you left off, when it hits this August. That, is pretty cool.
Landing in stores both physical stores, and for digital platforms, Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be hitting the Xbox One and the PS4. Just remember, this “try before you buy” is good only on the Xbox.
