Marvel Heroes Omega hitting Xbox One at the end of the month

The currently running Marvel Heroes Omega could probably be thought of as the spiritual successor to the Ultimate Alliance games. And it’s coming to Xbox One.

Omega Alliance

As a big Marvel guy, I feaking loved the X-Men Legends and Ultimate Alliance series. So I’m pumped to see the return of the series, even if it is in a spiritual sense. And yes, even it it’s free to play. I know, many of you just made ‘that face’, but the game looks really good.

Offered as a free download, Marvel Heroes Omega combines the core gameplay of action-RPGs and MMOs with an expansive library of heroes from the Marvel Universe. Take on the role of your favorite characters, including Spider-Man, the Avengers, the Defenders, the Inhumans, the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and more! With thousands of hours of character progression, hundreds of costumes, and an ever-growing roster of playable heroes and rewards, Marvel Heroes Omega comes packed with tons of replay value and a steady stream of new challenges coming in regular updates.

See? While I’m sure that all of that will cost you something, Omega does sound like it should be playable in core form. And to be honest, it’s hard not to get excited for that. Most of the above recounts exactly what you’d find in the legacy series that Omega follows-up on. Just instead of getting it all at once, it’s broken into micro-transactions. Hey, at least you can pick and choose.

Marvel Heroes Omega is available now on the PC, and is currently in Beta form on the PS4. Not coincidently, it’ll exit that pre-release mode on June 30th. That is the same day it’ll arrive on the Xbox One in full-release.
