Halloween-themed event earns twice the Candies in Pokemon Go

It’s trick-or-treat time with the new Halloween-themed Pokemon Go event. Starting Wednesday, October 26, players will start seeing spooky creatures throughout their Pokemon journeys. Trainers will experience a higher encounter rate with the following creepy creatures: Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno, Zubat and more. The Niantic is also providing quite the sugary treat for the Halloween spirit.

Get out and catch 'em all
Halloween Event for Pokemon Go starts October 26 and runs through November 1.

“We would like to trick-or-treat our own special way by giving Trainers the chance to catch more Pokemon and earn extra Candy this Halloween,” said Tatsuo Nomura, senior product manager at Niantic, Inc. There is plenty to get excited about as some activities will earn Trainers twice the amount of normal Candies.

Now as Trainers scour the globe for Pokemon, they will acquire six Candies for every Pokemon caught. Trading in Pokemon to the professor will net two Candies instead of one. Lastly, buddy Pokemon will earn four Candies instead of the usual one. Make sure to get outside and catch ‘em all! As usual, be safe, courteous and respectful to other Trainers and the outdoors.

“The excitement of Pokémon’s 20-year celebration continues this Halloween with the first-ever in-game Pokémon GO event,” said J.C. Smith, senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International. “We anticipate seeing many Pokémon-themed costumes during this anniversary year, and now Trainers can add Pokémon GO to their trick-or-treat route to receive Candy and add some of the spookier Pokémon to their Pokédex.”

Pokemon Go is a fun and exciting game that is available on any mobile device. The object of the game is to collect as many Pokemon as possible. The Trainers then take these Pokemon to Gyms for training and battles. Trainers can represent their Team color as a Gym is completed. Pokeomon Go is available on iOS and Android.
