Spidey goes to feudal Japan for new figure

A part of Tamashii Nations’ re-envisioning series of action figures, this Samurai Spider-Man harkens back to feudal Japan.

A Spider-Man with a katana

Tamashii Nations should ring a bell for anyone who’s an action figure collector. The company makes some awesome stuff, and works with huge licenses like TMNT, Star Wars, and Marvel Comics. And that’s not even mentioning their fantastic history with the legendary Gundam model kits.

In the case of Star Wars, we’ve seen a fantastic series of feudal Japanese-influenced re-designs on the classic characters that we all know and love. Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and even the red-clad Royal Guards have all gotten the treatment. They all look great too, with even their iconic weaponry cast as though it was made in old Japan.

We haven’t seen a similar design for Marvel characters though. That changes right now, with none other than the Amazing Spider-Man.

Spider-Man is the first in the line, and man is he looking cool. Decked out in red and black samurai armor and wielding a katana, this is a Spidey not to be messed with. He also comes complete with extra hands for different poses, and a grappling hook meant to emulate his web-swinging, how neat is that?

Samurai Spider-Man goes on sale next month, which makes him a pretty nice Holiday gift for a big Spidey fan. As of right now, you can pre-order him through our pals over at Entertainment Earth. Hit the link below to reserve yours.
