Werewolf by Night: Blood Moon Rise coming this summer, from the director of the Disney+ series

Fresh lycanthropic action is coming to the Marvel Universe this July from Michael Giacchino, putting Werewolf by Night up against Dracula himself.

His hair was perfect

If you enjoyed Marvel Studios’ Special Presentation Werewolf by Night on Disney+, then you’re going to love what’s coming up this July from Marvel Comics. The director of the aforementioned (and composer), Michael Giacchino will be helming a special one-shot, loaded with a two-pack of tales.

Giacchino will be joined by artist David Messina on the book, which sounds like it should hit the mark for fans of the show, and the comics that it was based on. As mentioned though, that’s not all, as Jason Loo will be penning the backup story. And if that name sounds familiar, it’s because he is the writer of the character’s current ongoing, Werewolf By Night: Red Band.

WEREWOLF BY NIGHT: BLOOD MOON RISE spotlights what makes Werewolf By Night such a captivating Marvel icon, with over fifty years of comics history – and a hundred times as many bodies in his wake! In addition to Giacchino’s story that pits the tortured hero against Dracula, the one-shot will also have a backup story by Jason Loo, writer of the current Werewolf By Night: Red Band comic series, celebrating the character’s history and future along with various bonus material.

“It could be a lost story from the original run, in a way,” Giacchino told EW. “There’s a fun twist to it that I think is going to be really interesting for people who are into Jack Russell and that lore.”
