Upcoming animated feature The King of Kings rounds out an all-star voice cast

Getting ever closer is The King of Kings, as Mofac Animation Studios’ adaptation of the Dickens tale adds even more vocal talent.

Apostles

We’ve been reporting on The King of Kings for a while, and the Mofac Animations Studios project just keeps getting more impressive. The film is set to bring a Charles Dickens tale to life, though it’s one that you might not know. This particular story centers on Dickens’ family, as he teaches his son about Jesus Christ.

The project has been in the works for a while now, and has so-far revealed a stellar voice cast. Actors onboard include Oscar Isaac as Jesus, Kenneth Branagh as Dickens, Uma Thurman, and Forest Whitaker too, so it’s not exactly understaffed when it comes to big names. But while those are the headliners, there’s a deeper cast to fill out.

And to that end, Mofac announced additional names just last week. Especially if you’re into games and animation, the latest additions might be just as major as the aforementioned.

Recent cast additions include:

  • Jim Cummings, Disney’s longtime voice of Winnie the Pooh, Tigger & Darkwing Duck
  • James Arnold Taylor, known for iconic roles such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Fred Flintstone, The Flash and Spider-Man
  • Dee Bradley Baker, voice of Captain Rex and an entire army of clone troopers in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as filling integral roles in multiple other Lucasfilm animated productions
  • Vanessa Marshall, known for Hera (Star Wars Rebels), Wonder Woman (Harley Quinn), Gamora (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Black Canary (Young Justice)
  • Fred Tatasciore, famous for his title roles in Hit MonkeyMoongirl and Devil Dinosaur and I Am Groot, as well as prime spots in Star Wars Skeleton Crew and Star Trek: Lower Decks
  • Imari Williams, an established commercial voiceovers star (GE, Burger King, Pizza Hut and AT&T) and animation/videogarmes (Transformers: Rescue Bots, World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Starfield and Halo Infinite
  • Mick Wingert, highly regarded as the voices of Professor Heimerdinger (Arcane), Iron Man/Tony Stark (Marvel’s What If…?), The Talking Flower (Super Mario Wonder), Il Dottore (Genshin Impact) and both The Joker and M.O.E. (Bat Wheels).
  • Millicent Miereanu, best known for live-action films Last Time and Holy Pepperoni
  • Frank Todaro, known for his turns as Starscream (Transformers) and Mugman (The Cuphead Show)
  • Young UK actors Ava Sanger and Noah Alexander

Mofac Animation Studios press release

The King of Kings will be distributed by Angel Studios, the same company that brought Sound of Freedom to theaters. And while the worldwide theatrical release will be April 11th, there’s a panel scheduled to land at Wondercon this Saturday (March 29th).

If you have a pass to the big Anaheim show and want to check it out for yourself, make sure to make plans to head to room 207. The presentation kicks off at 3pm and is scheduled to run for one hour, ending at 4pm.
